Hybrid cars produce renewable energy while being driven

We drive hybrid cars because they have the lowest greenhouse gas emissions.  Hybrid cars are classified as either "Ultra Low Emission Vehicles," which eliminate 85% of greenhouse gas emissions, or "Partial Zero Emission Vehicles," which eliminate 90% of greenhouse gas emissions.

One hybrid is a five-passenger Toyota Prius that gets an average of about 40 miles per gallon and the other hybrid is a two-passenger Honda Insight that averages 52 miles per gallon.  We travel about 23,000 miles per year and use around 530 gallons of gas.  An SUV would consume at least 2,000 gallons in 23,000 miles.  That means we save $3,000 per year on gas compared to an SUV.
