A view of some of the woodland on our property

Our 170-acre farm has walnut, oak, maple and pine trees, which helps replenish the wood used to construct the buildings.  Trees are being planted each year to absorb more carbon dioxide.  In addition a tree-stand improvement project has removed undesirable trees from the woodland to make more room for the more desirable trees.

Terracing is used on our property to lessen water erosion

The farm also has several pastures used for rotational grazing of livestock.  This type of land use reduces erosion and builds natural soil nutrients.  Pastures have been seeded with 7 varieties of grasses and legumes which provide natural feed for livestock and avoid the use of chemicals.
