A FIREPLACE CAN BE EFFECTIVE

Our fireplace heats our home instead of losing heat.

The Rumford fireplace is the only wood-burning fireplace that burns clean and is also a very effective radiant heater.  The fireplace hearth has a large 43-inch opening with a shallow 16-inch depth allowing more heat to radiate into the room from the hot bricks in the fire box.  The logs are placed vertically and make a large fire while air from outside the house is supplied directly to the firebox to lessen the need to burn inside air.  Count Rumford designed the fireplace in the 1790s.
